So…I haven’t been reading. I need to do it more though, because it makes me super happy. I was home sick today, and I finished City of Bones and loved just sitting there reading and drinking tea (which was helping my sore throat). I found a few books at the Goodwill that I figured for $1 each I could buy, so I got A Million Little Pieces, Fallen, Torment, and Passion by Lauren Kate.

I will probably continue the City of Bones series as I enjoyed the last one…but I need to get away from Young Adult soon and just get a different book to read. Maybe Gone Girl, A Million Little Pieces, or a new Christopher Moore is in order. I will not continue with Beautiful Creatures…it was too slow and I just didn’t care about the characters.

Maybe I’ll do better updating as we near the fall/winter?

Until Next Time,
Tori

Until Next Time – which could very well not be able books and going be about fitness, dieting, or whatever.

50 for the year, isn’t bad. Though, some of these were definitely a bit juvenile, short, etc. My goal for 2013 is 40 REAL books. I’m beginning with The Magicians – Lev Grossman, and Sacre Bleu – Christopher Moore. I also have Shadow & Bone by Leigh Bardugo checked out currently (and a whole collection of unread books at home).

Top Five (in no order):
Water for Elephants
The Night Circus
The Book of Joe
11/22/63
The Host – not as well written as The Help, but I’d want to own this before The Help, which is why it made the top 5.

Honorable Mentions: The Help, A Dirty Job, and The Timekeeper

Worst Five or Most Disappointing (in no order):
The Kill Order
The Void of Mist and Thunder
The Marriage Plot (after all the wonderful things I’ve read/heard about Jeffrey Eugenides, I wasn’t that impressed based on this book. I still plan on reading MiddleSex though).
Modelland
Arcadia (again, I really truly liked The Monsters of Templeton, but Arcadia was sort of depressing (though well-written), and it hasn’t even really stuck with me in anyway)

Happy New Year – 2013 has some amazing things in store for me already!

Until Next Time,
Tori

39. That Summer – Sarah Dessen
40. The Time Keeper  – Mitch Albom

I’m pretty pleased I’ve read 40 books so far. I am currently reading Hourglass – Myra McIntyre and Fluke – Christopher Moore. I have the same books still on my phone (I have since learned how to download e-books straight from the library to my phone, which is probably how I read 7 books in a month), that I haven’t finished, but they are patiently waiting.

I enjoyed The Time Keeper quite a bit. It was a quick read, but it was also thought provoking (as all Albom books tend to be). The final two books of the 13th Reality series seemed to DRAG…. I had to FORCE myself to read it. Sarah Dessen is an easy read everytime. She’s a great young woman’s writer and I always get caught up in her characters – no matter how juvenile the books seem to be. The Kill Order was sort of a let down after the other books in the series, but I was able to read it quickly.

I’m looking forward to reading more over the holidays! Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!

Until Next Time….
